While in Tottori I also went on a trip to the town of Kami in Hyōgo Prefecture where there's a few locations shown in Air.
At Kasumi Station, the closest train station, they had a tourist information office.
Inside they had this small figure of Kano holding Potato.
When they saw me taking pictures of the figure they gave me one of these Air sightseeing maps. The map says Kasumi, because that's what the town was known as before it got merged into Kami Town. The red spots on the map marks locations seen in the anime and the pink spots locations with a similar atmosphere.
They also had a Michiru plushie.

First I headed towards the school and on the way I saw this railroad bridge that's similar to one shown in the anime. The one actually shown in the anime is in another location though.
Image from Episode 1 - 04m06s
Near the back of the school there was this seawall.
Image from Episode 1 - 04m15s
View towards the school building from the beach in front of the seawall.
Image from Episode 1 - 04m24s
The stairs at the seawall are different. This is one of the locations that have a similar atmosphere instead of matching exactly.
Image from Episode 3 - 15m20s
Misuzu walking on the seawall.
Image from Episode 2 - 13m03s
The main entrance of the school which is called Kasumi High School in real life.
Image from Episode 2 - 13m05s
The back entrance to the school is where the seawall is though.
Image from Episode 10 - 00m09s
Back at the main entrance again. This school only got a similar atmosphere as well.
Image from Episode 1 - 05m48s
Next was the location of this nearby bridge that does match though.
Image from Episode 1 - 05m55s
The building on the right seems to match the most here. The same bridge is depicted as having both metal and wooden railings from one shot to the next in the show for some reason.
Image from Episode 6 - 12m13s
Near the bridge I also saw this fire lookout tower. It is not the same one as in the show, but I took a picture here because the original one that was elsewhere in town has actually burned down.
Image from Episode 11 - 19m12s
After that I went back towards the train station and down to the seaside.
Image from Episode 11 - 19m15s
The town has a similar crescent shaped bay.
Image from Episode 11 - 20m25s
There's no seawall near the beach though.
Image from Episode 2 - 11m16s
This breakwater in the distance on the right makes a similar shape as in the anime.
I continued along the bay and I got to a fishing yard where I saw this figure of Misuzu, so I knew I'd gotten to the right place.
Image from Episode 1 - 06m00s
There were lots of fishing boats here of course.
Image from Episode 1 - 06m03s
This is where Yukito and Misuzu was trying to find Yukito's puppet.
Image from Episode 1 - 06m05s
It's become completely overgrown now though. If you look closely you can see an old oil barrel on the left here just like in the anime shot.
Image from Episode 1 - 06m16s
There's a pile of tires here as well as shown on the right in this picture.
Image from Episode 1 - 12m45s
One of the fishing boats out at sea.
Image from Episode 1 - 02m29s
Near the fishing yard there's a mountain where there's an observatory that's shown in the OP.
Image from Episode 10 - 09m27s
On the way to the observatory I also stopped at Yasaka Shrine which is yet another place with a similar atmosphere. I've visited Yaho Tenman-gū which looks more like the shine in the anime before though.
Image from Episode 3 - 08m29s
Going back towards the train station again I also visited the location of this curved path.
Image from Episode 1 - 17m04s
And this road through some fields that was supposed to be the same as the anime.
Image from Episode 1 - 17m18s
It didn't seem to match that much any more though, but I've marked the path from Kasumi Station to this place in the map below.
Location map:
This location was visited on 2016/10/18.
If you decide to visit this place yourself, do remember that the school still in use and you should NOT enter it.
Special thanks to the ones who went here before:
