KyoAni & Do Shop Revisit

Since I was in the area I also checked out the KyoAni & Do Shop again.

The building is still the same.

But with new banners. This one is for the KyoAni movie year with Sound! Euphonium: Our Promise: A Brand New Day, Free! -Road to the World- Dream and Violet Evergarden the Movie.

And another banner for the KyoAni Do Fan Days 2019.

Just Tsurune goods on display this time.

A different Sound! Euphonium: Our Promise: A Brand New Day poster on display.

Info about the opening hours.

KyoAni movie year standee and Sound! Euphonium: Our Promise: A Brand New Day poster inside as well.

The standee had creator messages on it. Warning: This is an extra large picture to show more details.

They still had the same Violet Evergarden items on display.

I took some closeup pictures of the Violet Evergarden items this time.

Here's one of the shikishi sign board signed by Yui Ishikawa.

And they still had the Free! items on display as well.

I also got another picture of the main Kyoto Animation office.

Sound! Euphonium: Our Promise: A Brand New Day posters on display here too.

Even at the entrance.

The new Kohata Station building had also been finished so here's a picture of that. The train station details from Air is no longer here unfortunately.

I picked up some flyers for Sound! Euphonium: Our Promise: A Brand New Day, the KyoAni movie year and KyoAni Do Fan Days 2019 while here and I also bought a Sound! Euphonium: Our Promise: A Brand New Day movie pamphlet elsewhere on this trip.

Aria - Shrine

In episode 5 of Aria the Natural they visit a shrine that seems to be based on Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto.

Image from Aria the Natural Episode 5 - 11m15s

Lots of red torii gates of course.

Image from Aria the Natural Episode 5 - 11m22s

And fox statues.

Image from Aria the Natural Episode 5 - 02m37s

The statue that matches the one seen in the anime the most is located at the romon main gate in real life.

Image from Aria the Natural Episode 5 - 04m39s

There's supposedly more than 10000 red torii gates here.

Image from Aria the Natural Episode 5 - 04m51s

In a lot of places the gates are placed much more densely than what's shown in the show.

Image from Aria the Natural Episode 5 - 05m05s

Not as many tablets on the gakuzuka supporting struts here.

Image from Aria the Natural Episode 5 - 05m40s

On the reverse side of the gates you can see writing telling you who donated them.

Image from Aria the Natural Episode 5 - 06m42s

This is the Senbon Torii, the most famous part of the shrine, so there's lots of people stopping here.

I couldn't get a picture without anybody in it this time, but I had this picture from a previous time I visited this shrine because of Inari, Konkon, Koi Iroha.

Image from Aria the Natural Episode 5 - 06m43s

This is the gehaiden worship hall.

Image from Aria the Natural Episode 5 - 06m26s

And finally a picture of one of the many fox altars.

No map since this is a famous tourist attraction.

This location was visited on 2019/04/15. The Senbon Torii picture without anybody in it is from 2014/04/09.

Pop Culture Hiroshima 2019

Since I was visiting Hiroshima I checked out Pop Culture Hiroshima 2019.

This event took place in the Hiroshima Prefectural Citizen's Culture Center.

Cardboard cutouts inside the Culture Center.

They held various performances on this stage.

Including an anisong karaoke competition.

And performances from Actor’s School Hiroshima students.

In the nearby Sunmall shopping mall they also had a small doujin event called Aki-Comi 2019.

I also took some pictures of some cosplayers I saw, including this Nico from Love Live cosplayer.

Rem from Re:Zero.

Saber from Fate.

And Madoka and Homura from Puella Magi Madoka Magica.

Event flyers for both Pop Culture Hiroshima 2019 and Aki-Comi 2019.

No location map since it's no longer there.

The last Girls und Panzer der Film location I visited this time was the seaside near Ōarai Hotel.

This road was also shown in the fourth episode of the show.

Behind the KV-2 here you can see the top of the light structure in the picture. I've marked the location of the light structure in the map below.

I also got a better matching shot of the front of Ōarai Hotel as shown in the sixth OVA.

They still had Girls und Panzer goods for sale in the hotel gift shop and the Mako cardboard cutout.

In Ōarai Seaside Hotel they still had the giant Boko teddy bear I saw the last time I visited.

And lots of Girls und Panzer goods on display here too.

Including these shikishi sign boards.
