Haruhi Suzumiya - Ferry

In addition to checking out the port area of Tokushima I also took the Nankai ferry since it was shown in Haruhi Suzumiya.

The ferry runs between Tokushima and Wakayama.

Unfortunately the ferry that was shown in the anime was retired in 2007, so the one I took didn't match.

There were some similarities though like these green sailcloth covered walkways.

The seating areas outside were different.

These rows of plastic chairs didn't match either.

The insides were slightly more similar.

Area where you could lie down.

They play cards in the area where you can lie down in the shown.

There's just open shelves here without any door.

The cushions behind Haruhi here are the same though.

Kyon buys drinks from one of the vending machines.

They only had apple juice boxes and not cans for sale.

The outsides of the ferry is also shown in Remote Island Syndrome Part 2.

Mooring winches.

They also had ferry mascot character decorations, just like I saw at the ferry terminal and on the side of the ship.

Inside too.

No location map since it's just a ferry running between Tokushima and Wakayama.

Love Live Sunshine - Awashima Marine Park

This time while in Numazu I also checked out Awashima Marine Park on Awashima Island. The closest bus stop is Marine Park Bus Stop for Tokai buses, but if you're using Izuhakone buses you'll have to walk here from Mito Bus Stop. In addition to the places in this post I also visited Mari's House, Kanan's House, Konpiragu Shrine and Awashima Shrine which is also on Awashima Island.

Awashima Marine Park mascot characters. The top one is a sea slug named Umine Awashima.

Banner for the Love Live Sunshine movie.

Inside the ticket office they had a signed Dia cardboard cutout celebrating New Year and Dia's birthday.

Next to the ticket office they also had another room with more Love Live Sunshine items and gashapon.

Character banners outside.

To get to the Marine Park itself you have to take a shuttle boat to Awashima Island. One of these shuttle boats went to the Marine Park while the other seemed to go to a hotel on the island called Awashima Hotel. Both were Love Live Sunshine decorated.

They also have a special cruise with another boat named Shiny-maru at certain times.

I saw the Shiny-maru boat while visiting, which was Mari decorated of course.

I took the regular shuttle boat though, which is also seen in the anime.

Love Live Sunshine decoration on the boat.

And voice actor signatures.

More signatures.

There's dolphins here in real life too, and they have dolphin shows several times a day.

Dia talks to Kanan and Mari.

The dolphin seems to tease Dia.

The building in the background here matches.

They had lots of Love Live Sunshine things around the island including this huge banner with the same image as on the shuttle boat.

The banner were hanging just outside the place where they had the sea lion shows shown on the banner.

In the café next to the sea lion show they had these cardboard cutouts of Dia, Kanan, Mari and Yoshiko.

Another board for Dia's birthday.

And this wallscroll.

Cardboard cutouts of Chika and Hanamaru and goods for sale outside the gift shop.

Love Live Sunshine shopping bags.

Another Love Live Sunshine decorated board.

And items for sale inside the gift shop as well of course.

After going back from the island I also saw some of the Love Live Sunshine decorated taxis waiting.

Both the Riko and Hanamaru taxis.

And I got a quick shot of the Ruby taxi, which was leaving.

Just outside the Marine Park ticket office parking area is also where Kanan is shown starting her morning run.

The entrance to the Marine Park ticket office parking area. You can also see the bus stop sign for the Marine Park Bus Stop in the picture.

This is further along the street. I've marked a path from the Marine Park Bus Stop to this place in the map below.

Awashima Island in the background here. From here Kanan continues her run past the place near Mito Bus Stop, outside Izu Mito Sea Paradise, the seaside near Nagahama Bus Stop, ending up at Bentenjima Shrine.
