Since I already was at the Demachi Masugata Shopping Street again to get some The Eccentric Family pictures I also decided to get pictures of the locations where the mochi shops the Kitashirakawa and Oji families lives in Tamako Market.
Image from Episode 1 - 12m43s.
This is the location of the Tama-ya mochi shop where Tamako and the rest of the Kitashirakawa family lives. As you can see there's no mochi shop here in real life. The building on the left matches though.
Image from Episode 7 - 04m35s.
Tamako and Choi outside Tama-ya. The real-life building in this location can actually be seen in The Eccentric Family!
Image from Episode 4 - 12m49s.
Dera flying out of the window of Tama-ya. You can see the two matching buildings to the left.
Image from Episode 1 - 17m50s.
There's no Ricecake Oh! Zee across the road either. Just a parking spot.

And the view towards the mochi shops location from the shopping street.
Image from Episode 6 - 00m12s.
Just a bit further down the road from the mochi shops location there's also this roadside shrine that was shown in the anime.
Image from Episode 6 - 00m14s.
Tamako prays at the shrine.
Image from Episode 6 - 00m54s.
The buildings at the shrine all matches.
Image from Episode 6 - 08m23s.
All the shopping street shop owners at the roadside shrine.
Image from Episode 6 - 07m04s.
On the other side of the shopping street from where the mochi shops location is there's this place where Tamako and friends sets up a haunted house.
Image from Episode 6 - 15m04s.
No haunted house here in real life.
Image from Episode 6 - 11m02s.
The buildings on the other side of the road here doesn't really match.
Image from Episode 6 - 17m08s.
People queuing to enter the haunted house. I've marked a path from the mochi shops location to this location in the map below.
Although the mochi shops shown in Tamako Market isn't real, there's the sweets shop that sells mochi called Demachi Futaba just in front of the shopping arcade.
There's usually huge lines to get mochi here every day. By pure luck it was a short line on the day I visited, so I finally decided to get some mochi here.
The history of the shop. It was founded in 1899, so it's been around for quite a while. Their signature item is called mamemochi.

Mamemochi is the same type of mochi that is shown in Tamako Market.
