Lucky Star - Washinomiya Shrine New Year

I also visited Washinomiya Shrine which was shown in Lucky Star yet again for New Year's.

The torii gate collapsed back in August and hadn't been rebuilt yet. You can see the bamboo rods where the gate used to be.

The Hiiragi sisters stone tablet is still there though.

A lot more visitors than shown in the anime.

Food stalls along the path leading up to the main shrine building.

I got some yakisoba to eat, and it came with some Grisaia: Phantom Trigger chopsticks.

The main shrine building where everybody prayed.

I also saw lots of anime ema tablets here of course.

Full view of the ema hanging place. Extra large picture to show more details.

More ema. Extra large picture to show more details.

Lots of tied up o-mikuji fortunes as well.

Just outside the shrine they had lots of stalls selling goods.

Lucky Star goods everywhere.

More Lucky Star goods.

Even Lucky Star food and drinks.

Another stall had other anime drinks including AnoHana ones in the wooden box in the middle here.

Tobu Railway anime girls goods for sale too.

Lucky Star banners still up.

On the way back to the station I also passed this eating place that had lots of Lucky Star decorations.

I also checked out the store right next to Washinomiya Station again, which had new Lucky Star posters outside.

Another poster.

They still had decorations inside too. I've marked a path from the shrine to this store in the map below.

I bought a Lucky Star x Full Metal Panic pin button at one of the stalls at the shrine, which also came with a Lucky Star x The Fruit of Grisaia bag. In this picture is also a Lucky Star anime pilgrimage book with postcards I bought at Comiket 95.

Lucky Star - Kenrokuen Garden

Since I was doing some sightseeing in Kanazawa I stopped by Kenrokuen Garden which was shown in Lucky Star.

Image from Episode 22 - 18m25s

This is a famous lantern in Kenrokuen Garden called Kotoji-Toro which is shown in a flashback with Konata's father and mother.

They seem to be walking across this bridge in front of the lantern. It took ages to get these shots since there was lots of people standing on the bridge trying to get pictures here.

No map since this is a famous tourist attraction.

Special thanks to the ones who went here before:

Lucky Star - Shrine Revisit

While in Japan I met up with brassica and we went to Washinomiya Shrine in Kuki city known from Lucky Star since he hadn't been there before.

The torii gate is the same as the last time I visited.

And the Hiiragi sisters stone tablet is still there.

They had this illustration of the Miyakawa sisters near the stone tablet that wasn't there last time though.

Lucky Star banner near the torii gate.

Also went into the shrine grounds as well.

And checked out the ema hanging place again. Extra large picture to show more details.

There's still lots of people coming here every year. Extra large picture to show more details.

Leaving lots of anime ema. Extra large picture to show more details.

Some closeups. Lucky Star x Madoka and Lucky Star x Pokémon Go ones here.

Lucky Star x Godzilla.

Even some ema for other shows like AnoHana.

And Love Live.

Plus a Goofy one for some reason.

Walking back to the nearby Washinomiya Station we also saw a place serving Lucky Star inspired food.

And we checked out the store right next to Washinomiya Station which I had also visited last time.

Some posters outside the store.

Another one next to the others.

And one inside as well.

They still had the Lucky Star decorations inside. We also talked for a bit with the owner of the store which showed us newspaper clippings from other countries about Lucky Star in Kuki.

The fan and the drawing inside the picture frame to the left has been changed.

Some more decorations, which I didn't take a picture of the last time, near the signed drawing.

Less doujin magazines for sale this time.

They had some other Lucky Star items for sale though, like the hot sauce and spice mix I saw posters for the last time.

On our way out we saw this Lucky Star x Mr. Osomatsu poster here as well.

The owner of the store was nice enough to show us the way to where this Lucky Star mural was.

This was apparently made by fans who had visited the city.

I've marked the path from the store to this place in the map below.
