Since I was in Tokyo at New Years this year too I checked out Comic Market again.
Unlike the last time I checked out Comiket, the areas were now split up because of the Olympics with the doujins halls at the main Tokyo Big Sight building and the corporate booths in a different location. I decided to check out the corporate booths on the first day and the lines started near DiverCity Tokyo Plaza.
When the lines finally started moving they turned to the right at this corner. The Gundam Unicorn statue in front of DiverCity Tokyo Plaza is hidden behind the trees in this picture.
The lines continued towards VenusFort with the big ferris wheel on the right here and Tokyo Teleport Station and the Teleport Bridge on the left.
The lines ended up here next to the Teleport Bridge. On the right next to the bridge are the new Aomi Exhibition Halls A and B.
There used to be a big parking lot where these halls were built.
I finally made it inside at 11:10 after waiting in line from around 09:30.
Lots of booths inside the area of course.
Good Smile Company booth.
Lots of people in line for the Seven Net Shopping booth.
And a giant booth for the game Identity V.
There were various official cosplayers around too.
Like these Nekopara cosplayers.
And this Kuroko Shirai cosplayer handed out A Certain Scientific Railgun T booklets.
I also checked out the doujins areas at Tokyo Big Sight. They used all the west halls and the newly built south halls since the east halls were closed for the Olympics.
It was towards the end of the day so some booths had already closed, but there were still plenty of people around.
I also went back on the third Comiket day. I got up early this time and I had to wait in this line at Shimbashi Station for the Yurikamome to open.
Both the first, leaving at 05:20, and second Yurikamome trains at the two platforms filled up fast so I had to take the third train of the day here.
The train reached Tokyo Big Sight at a bit before 06:00 and everybody headed off to stand in line.
Found my place in line before sunrise.
I was in part 5 of the center promenade line, so I could move around the area until 08:00.
Lots of people arriving all the time so the line grew a lot during the hours of waiting until 08:00.
Back in line and it started raining.
Luckily it mostly stopped before opening hours.
The first group started moving up the stairs you can see in the distance here at 10:00 when Comiket opened.
Inside I saw these big posters for the second season of Re:Zero and a mobile game called Tenka Hyakken Zen.
Since there were less space inside the Tokyo Big Sight halls they also had a fourth day of Comiket this time, so I had to wait in line yet another day. This time I made the second train from Shimbashi Station on the Yurikamome, so I got a better place in the line.
Lots of people in line before opening again.
There seemed to be even more people than on the third day.
While checking out the area during the wait I saw these posters outside the nearby Ministop convenience store.
More posters.
I also got a picture of one of the lines for toilets. This one went around the corner of the park area here, and you can spot the actual small grey toilet building to the right in the picture if you look closely.
Back in the line when it started moving.
Lots of doujins for sale on this day too of course.
At the end of the day I went back to Akihabara and there were already Comiket 97 doujins for sale at different shops.
In the middle here is an Idolmaster pilgrimage book made by kazupi.
Since it was New Years I also checked out Kanda Shrine again.
Lots of people here for hatsumōde of course.
This time I also saw this Love Live poster at the shrine.
Some of the things I got at Comiket, like anime pilgrimage and illustration books, including the Idolmaster one I got as a gift from kazupi himself when I met him on this trip, keychains, postcards and the A Certain Scientific Railgun T booklet I got from the cosplayer. You can also see the Comiket 97 catalog I had to buy on the left here since you needed to have armbands that came with the catalog to get in this time because the areas were split up in different locations. I got an extra leftover armband for the first day you can see next to the catalog in the picture too.
No location map since it's no longer there.
This location was visited on 2019/12/28, 2018/19/30 and 2019/12/31.
