This shot is the view from room 205 in Green Hotel Sakae. Supposedly Makoto Shinkai stayed here while doing location scouting in Tanegashima.
I didn't stay here, but I asked the staff if I could take a picture from the room and they said yes. The hotel entrance is here on the right side of the building and not in the front of the building, even if there's doors and windows at the front.
They had a 5 Centimeters Per Second poster in the hotel. I've marked a path from the place in the first shot above to this hotel in the map below.
