Hello Kitty Trains

While in Japan this time I managed to ride both the Hello Kitty Haruka and Hello Kitty Shinkansen, so I took some pictures of both.

This is the Haruka train with lots of Hello Kitty decorations.

On the train cars as well.

I took this train from Kansai Airport Station to Kyoto Station.

Inside the train.

Hello Kitty on the headrest covers.

And the walls.

Even on the mirror in the toilet area.

And the doors.

This is the Hello Kitty Shinkansen, which replaced the Evangelion Shinkansen.

It's the same 500 Series Kodama train.

But now pink instead of purple.

The decorations outside is on all the cars. From car 1 and 2 on one end.

Past car 6 here.

And all the way to 8.

Every car also has a Hello Kitty prefecture symbol on it. From Osaka here on car 8.

Hyogo on car 7.

Okayama on car 6.

Hiroshima on car 5.

Tottori on car 4.

Shimane on car 3.

Yamaguchi on car 2.

And finally Fukuoka on car 1.

I got pictures of the insides as well, and in the back of car 8 they still had the set of train controls which it also had when it was the Evangelion Shinkansen.

They hadn't changed the seats in the car so they were still purple. The doors had Hello Kitty decorations though.

Slightly different decorations on the doors in car 7.

Car 6 and 5 also had door decorations.

In car 4 there was now a luggage storage space in one end.

It was for bicycles as well it seemed.

Inside car 3.

In car 3 the smoking rooms were also Hello Kitty decorated now.

There were decorations on the entrance and exit doors too.

And in various other locations.

Hello Kitty reminding you to keep the train clean.

Car 2 was completely Hello Kitty decorated.

Everything from the floor.

To the seats.

Seat backs.

Tray tables and the end of the car.

And the window blinds.

Different window blind decorations.

At the front of the car there was more luggage storage on one side.

And a big Hello Kitty statue on the other side.

Photo spot in front of the statue.

In car 1 there was now a space called Hello! Plaza.

Inside there was a big screen playing tourism videos and a picture of Hiroshima.

The picture was of a bridge along the Shimanami Kaido toll road.

There were also a gift shop in the Hello! Plaza.

Lots of goods for sale including cookies.

Curry and train models.

Other kinds of sweets including apple dorayaki pancakes.

Hello Kitty gashapon.

And various other goods.

In the shopping area there were also a place to sit down.

Hello Kitty plush and sign showing the date you could take pictures with in the sitting area.

You could also try this quiz.

And get drinks and food.

Hello Kitty decorated time table for the Hello Kitty Shinkansen near the plaza exit.

And the exit itself.

I bought a Hello Kitty Shinkansen keychain from the plaza, and I also got a free story book leaflet, postcards and a piece of Shinkansen candy for taking the Hello Kitty Shinkansen.

No location map since it's just a Haruka train running between Kansai Airport Station and Kyoto Station and a Shinkansen train running between Shin-Ōsaka Station and Hakata Station.

These locations were visited on 2019/11/02 and 2019/11/05.
