Snow Miku Sky Town

Since I was going to take a plane to Kyoto I checked out the Snow Miku Sky Town museum on the 4th floor of New Chitose Airport.

They had a 360 degrees cinema where you could watch a Snow Miku music video. Didn't have enough time to check it out myself unfortunately.




At the airport they were also going to hold an animation festival. But it started the day after I left so I didn't get to check it out.

Francesca - Hokkaido

While visiting the Former Hokkaidō Government Office I noticed a display for the anime series for Francesca, which is a character made to promote Hokkaidō.



Outside the Former Hokkaidō Government Office.




This display was on the second floor.




It had various Francesca goods.




Including water and snacks.




There were also lots of posters for the anime.




You can see the Former Hokkaidō Government Office in the background of this one.




The one on the left here got the Sapporo Clock Tower in the background.




Which I had visited earlier in the day, so here's a picture of that.




The standee on the top left says Girls, be ambitious!, a play on the saying by Dr. William Smith Clark.

K-On - Observation Hill

In episode 7 of season 2 of K-On we can see Megumi Sokabe sitting near a statue at the end of the episode. This statue is located on the Hitsujigaoka Observation Hill in Sapporo, so I went to take a look. The closest subway station is Fukuzumi Station where you can take a bus that goes all the way to the top of the hill.

Up on this hill is also a Sapporo Snow Festival museum.




Among other things they have models of some snow sculptures that were made, including this one of Sazae-san which is the longest-running anime series.
