A Silent Voice Exhibition

While exploring Shinjuku for Your Name locations we stumbled upon a small A Silent Voice Exhibition at Shinjuku Piccadilly Cinema, so I got some pictures.

They had these cardboard cutouts of the main characters.

And the small exhibition itself.

It had various keyframe drawings from the movie.

A bunch of art from the manga.

This giant shikishi signature board.

And this drawing of Ishida and Nishimiya as kids.

They also had this board here with various review scores and comments.

I had actually watched the movie the day before, but at Toho Cinemas LaLaport Tokyo-Bay, so here's some pictures of that as well.

Picture of ads for upcoming movies. The KanColle movie and the second HoneyWorks movie.

They had various promotions for movies where you could get special snack and drink boxes.

Another snack thing for the One Piece Film: Gold movie.

Closeup of the A Silent Voice special. You got a mini clear file of Ishida and Nishimiya at the movies with this one.

Picture of the seats that were similar as the ones on the clear file. :P

And here's a picture of the goods I picked up after watching the movie as well. To the upper left is a movie pamphlet with various images and interviews and the small special book on the bottom right is a short prequel manga about Nishimiya's mother they handed out for free.

No location map since it's no longer there.

These locations were visited on 2016/09/18 and 2016/09/19.

Your Name - Other Tokyo Locations

Here's a round-up of some more Tokyo locations shown in the trailers for Makoto Shinkai's Your Name that didn't fit in with the other posts.

Image from Trailer 2 - 00m54s

This sign north of Aoyama-itchōme Station has been put on the overpass near Shinanomachi Station in the movie. I've marked the location of a police station to the south of this sign in the map below. Just follow the road a bit further north and turn around and you should spot the sign.

This is the rooftop where Taki observes the meteor shower.

Image from Trailer 1 - 01m18s

One of the antennas on the roof is similar. This location is to the west of Akasaka Palace, close to the Chūō Main Line tracks and a Catholic religious institute. If you decide to visit this place yourself, do remember that it is a private residence and you should NOT trespass.

I also spotted some tower cranes while near this rooftop which reminded me of the ones from the movie.

Leading up to the building with the rooftop is this road. It doesn't look exactly the same as in the movie since there's a fence all the way, but you can see some of the skyscrapers in the background that matches.

The restaurant where Taki works part-time is a part of the chain called Cafe La Boheme in real-life. It's just north of a garden where a certain other Shinkai movie takes place.

We had some pasta for a really late lunch here. At lunch time when we first got here there were a long queue of people waiting to get in because of the popularity of the movie.

Your Name - Shinjuku Station

We also visited some places near Shinjuku Station shown in the trailers for Makoto Shinkai's Your Name.

This is at the intersection where Shinjuku Island Tower, Shinjuku Nomura Building, Shinjuku Center Building and a lot of other skyscrapers are located. The building in the middle of the picture is Shinjuku Center Building.

Fun!Tokyo! Poster

This image from the Fun!Tokyo! poster is taken from where the Kabukicho sign in Shinjuku is.

On the other side of the street from the Kabukicho sign you can get this image to the west of Yamada Denki Shinjuku Higashiguchi-kan (Not to be confused with Yamada Denki Shinjuku Nishiguchi-kan).

Between the Kabukicho sign and the Yamada Denki Shinjuku Higashiguchi-kan building there's a zebra crossing where you can get this picture.

Right in the middle of the zebra crossing is also where Taki is standing in this shot.

If you cross under the train tracks from the previous location you'll end up in front of the Shinjuku Sunflower Building here.

This cover image is in front of Shinjuku Station South Exit.

This Starbucks is on the second floor of Shinjuku Southern Terrace across the street from Shinjuku Station South Exit. You can see the Starbucks sign lighting up in the reflection in the anime image. I've marked the path from Yamada Denki Shinjuku Higashiguchi-kan to Shinjuku Center Building and then finally here in the location map below.

While in Shinjuku I also got this shot of some train doors. You can see the same warning stickers on the doors as in the movie.
